The most widely used greenery for huge bunches for decorating, whether it is fresh, dried, or preserved. Start early. Slow germination. Companion plants: Marigold, Lavender, Basil, Nasturtium, Thyme.  Far from: Walnut, Fennel. Planting tip: Sow seed indoors 10-12 weeks before the last frost. Fine vermiculite should be used to softly cover the seeds. Bottom water or mist to avoid covering seed with displaced soil. Transplant to a bigger pot when first true leaves appear. Harden off and transplant outside after the last frost. Requires warm soil, preferably black plastic mulch or landscape fabric.Seed stratification is required for 4-6 weeks. Harvesting tip: Harvest whenever the leaves begin to feel leathery. Use Glycerin as preservative. Must be handled gently as leave bruise easily or turn black. Harvest mid to late afternoon, after morning dew has dried off for strongest oil content.
