About the ‘Ponytail Palm’ Beaucarnea Recurvata
Oddly enough, a ponytail palm tree is neither a palm nor a tree. In fact, it is a member of the Agave family and is actually a succulent. A beautiful, unique plant with all this fun foliage, it’s also really hard not to want to spend hours just playing with it.
Light: Bright indirect light
Water: Allow the soil to dry out completely before watering. After watering, make sure the plant drains fully. Do not allow the plant to sit in water for more than an hour as this will cause root rot.
Difficulty: Easy
Feed: Apply half strength of general-purpose fertilizer once a month at most during the growing season.
Air Purifying: Yes, known to remove formaldehyde from the air.
Toxicity: Non-toxic, pet-friendly.
Growth Rate: Slow growing.
