About the Persian Catmint Seed Pack PERSIAN CATMINT | id:56581 | Certified Organic by Ecocert Canada | Perennial/self-seeds | Open Pollinated | Heirloom A fragrant, hardy herb prized for its aromatic leaves and attractive purple-blue flowers.Known for its ability to attract pollinators, such as bees and butterflies, while its aromatic scent repels unwanted pests like mosquitoes. Ideal for herb gardens, flower borders, or containers, it adds beauty and a pleasant fragrance. Its leaves can be used to create delicious herbal teas. Companion plants: Verbena, Agastache, Lavender, Tufted Hairgrass, Yarrow, Sage, Russian Sage, Snapdragons, Elderberry, Creeping Phlox, Ice Plant, Bee Balm.  Far from: Columbine, Hellebore, Peonies, Roses, Dahlias. Planting tip: Sow seeds indoors 6-8 weeks before the last frost date (around mid-March). Transplant seedlings outdoors after the danger of frost has passed, typically in late May. Space plants 18-24 inches apart in well-drained soil with full sun to partial shade. Harvesting tip: Harvest leaves and flowers just as the plant begins to bloom for the highest essential oil content. Cut stems in the morning after dew has dried. Storage tip: Dry harvested stems in a cool, dark, well-ventilated place. Once completely dry, store in airtight containers away from direct sunlight to preserve their aroma and medicinal properties.
